NBA Basketball to NHL Hockey Quick Changeover Time Lapse at American Airlines Center - Dallas, Texas
Переглядів 9 тис.2 роки тому
This was captured on April 16, 2022, in Dallas, Texas, during a doubleheader of a Dallas Mavericks (NBA) basketball game and Dallas Stars (NHL) hockey game. The basketball game(which was a playoff game) started at 12pm in the afternoon, ended at about 2:45pm, and there was about a 4-hour window, before the puck dropped at 7pm. The process of fully converting the seating configuration, from bask...

WATCH THE MAIN VIDEO HERE: ua-cam.com/video/jbg5mgRcML8/v-deo.html This is a 360 degree(VR) excerpt from my trip thru Grand Teton National Park, in July of 2019. It's best viewed in VR, or on a mobile device. You can drag the camera view around with your mouse. Also, the track I am listening to is from the video game, Journey. It's called "I Was Born For This" by Austin Wintory.
Texas Snowstorm February 2021
Переглядів 893 роки тому
From February 14th-19th, Texas endured a winter storm unlike anything we've seen in a very long time. In fact, it was the first time in over a century that all 254 counties in the state had been under a winter storm advisory. During the storm, the power grid failed, leaving millions in the dark. Water pipes froze, and burst, damaging thousands of homes and businesses. I was rather lucky, in tha...

Small Overhead Storage Cabinet | Ford Transit Connect Camper Van Conversion Vlog

Now that the big carpentry projects are seemingly done, I decided to move on to some smaller items. In this video, I designed and built a small overhead cabinet, to sit above the fridge. To make it easier, we built a jig to hold the cabinet up, while test-fitting it in place. Since the counter top is presumably level, the bottom of the cabinet would be parallel to that surface. From, there, it'...

    so for basketball they’re literally just playing on a court put together on top of the ice?

    • @JimmySlaughter
      @JimmySlaughter Місяць тому

      That's exactly how it works. There is 1" thick plastic sheeting that gets laid down on the ice. They go in a specific order so that the sheets sorta lock together. Then, the court is built on top of that. The plastic acts as an insulation layer, and they keep the ice cold enough so it doesn't melt while the court is on top of it.

      They could be desoldered, but I think it might be easier to source some new ones that are similar-looking. I would guess that they might be available from places like Digi-Key and Mouser.

    Probably the first connect I've seen that has the water under the van. How did you mount it to the body?

    • @JimmySlaughter
      @JimmySlaughter 5 місяців тому

      I constructed a tray from sheet metal, and secured it to the frame with threaded 1/4" rods. The tray is painted to help prevent rust, and on the side that is close to the exhaust pipe, I designed an insulation barrier that is sandwiched between two layers of sheet metal, to protect the tank from melting.

    @3:00 Jimmy, thanks for the tip about drilling out the spot welds to get rid of those seatbelt holders. I just discovered your playlist today, and I'll be watching your videos over and over as I go through the same steps starting out my camper build. I am also from Texas and bought a 2012 Ford Transit Connect XLT Premium last month that had to have been originally customized just like yours with the same interior trim, LED lamp, cargo liner, and rivet holes in the floor, but someone had already taken out the desk and chair. The previous owner was a carpenter, so it had sawdust in every nook and cranny that I have been cleaning. I have a few repairs to do to get it as fit as yours looked on day 1, which was apparently 6 years ago.

      They do still make great stuff. The studio I work at just upgraded to GVG LDX96 cameras and OCP500s. They are very futuristic compared the Ikegami's we had before. • @JimmySlaughter

      @@alixlachaud8034 Strength! I like to build things rigid. If you noticed, I used pocket screws in many places which adds to the integrity of the joints. Pocket screws don't work very well in plywood. Also, I find plywood alone to be rather unattractive and difficult to dress up. I used a combination of 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, and 1x6 pine boards to build the frame, but in the next video I cover it with thin plywood and laminate, which looks quite nice.

I recognized most of the locations you visited, and was surprised at some you didn't include, e.g., the Snake River Overlook off U.S. 191 where Ansel Adams created his famous photo "Tetons and the Snake River", and the view of the mountains reflected in Oxbow Bend. And yes, you need to return, probably multiple times.

      Thanks! I have never really thought of doing commissions. The MX30 is pretty small though. I suppose one could be made into an end table. I would recommend seeking out a local woodworker as they are likely much more skilled than I am at making tables. As for the electronics, I don't know. The Panasonic board maybe more sophisticated since the switcher and control surface are integrated. May be enough to just power it on and have the lights be static.

They made a new hotel called Rock Lititz and in some of the rooms they are customized with old equipment and posters of rock stars in concerts of days gone by. Somebody took a full audio mixer and turned it into a table just like yours and had all the flying faders moving and lights turning on and that's what gave me the idea a long time ago to do that with a video switcher but you're the first one I've ever seen do it successfully very cool.

      Thank you! My tank is made by ICON, and I bought it from Panther RV. There are several tank vendors online, and many of them you can search by capacity or dimensions. So, if you already know what size tank you need, it makes searching for one a little bit easier.

    How did you get it to sequence the lights. I have a 300 with no control box

      My father used an Arduino board, with a modified ribbon cable going into some of the stripes underneath. He figured out the addresses for the lights and was able to write a program that would randomly switch their on/off state.

    Very cool, and that book will hold a whole lot of memories! I envy you being out there. Still working on my van, and just ordered a montague paratrooper folding bike to convert to an ebike so when I can get away, I can wander further then I can walk.
